Recently reported by Chris Crum, Google’s “only fear” is taking it a step further. Facebook is now giving away decals to brick and motor businesses. According to Facebook this is only a small test and the decals have only been given to a small amount of businesses, but what do you think? Is there more behind this?

This is definitely an idea for businesses to explore since the decals point back to the businesses sites. This meaning Facebooks decal points back to the businesses Facebook page.

It seems like Facebook may be captivating more local search type users with their type of interaction. Facebook marketing has become huge and there is a reason for this. Using facebook gives potential customers greater interaction with businesses that they deal with “or may deal with” in the future.

So what is going on here? Fun? Fashion? The internet is still very much like the wild west. Things keep changing by the day and what was once the gold standard of marketing, today is old hat and ineffective.

My solution, get listed on the front (#1) page of Google, the natural way. Don’t fall for all the marketing crap that the agencies try to shove down your throat. Is there a place for paid advertising, ABSOLUTELY! But in this wild west show you do not want the foundation of your business dependent on something that you cannot control.

No matter what anyone tells you (no matter how great their “relationship”), if you are paying for advertising, you have NO control of what your business will be spending tomorrow! Think about that for a minute…
